Position Purpose

Start-up Phase: Coordinate both the CSRD project, as well as the EU Taxonomy implementation, from the implementation phase and the Dry run phase with MSCN/MGC as a Sustainability Specialist, part of the CSRD project team. You will report directly to the CSRD Project Lead and support the CSRD Project Manager.

Operational Phase: Ensuring compliance with environmental standards, reduce the company’s ecological footprint, and promote sustainable business practices, by managing and evaluating KPI’s, drafting our annual CSRD report with the Finance & Accounting Department, and plan annual audits to have an assurance for the report.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities, but not limited to

  • Main person in charge for our MSCN CSRD & EU Taxonomy project, working closely to our MGC head office and consultancy firm
  • Close the gaps between the current MSCN status and CSRD/EU Taxonomy requirements
  • Implement programs to reduce waste, and support circular economy principles in product manufacturing and disposal
  • Establish Environmental, Social, governance, and any other sustainability-related policy with related departments
  • Explore and propose installing an ESG-related system to collect data and create reports
  • Implement and modify sustainability strategies to make MSCN more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable
  • Track and report on the company’s environmental performance, including energy consumption, waste management, and emissions.
  • In close collaboration with our MSCN Process engineer, identify opportunities to reduce energy, water, and raw material consumption through process optimization and innovation.
  • Responsible for making the annual CSRD report of MSCN
  • Prepare, coordinate and execute an audit for the CSRD assurance annually and communicate with auditors
  • Implement sustainability KPI’s and monitor, evaluate and manage them
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on sustainability policies, processes, and best practices; fostering a culture of environmental responsibility
  • Keep a continuous educational focus on industry trends and innovations in sustainability and recommend cutting-edge solutions for continuous improvement
  • Establish a periodical communication governance within our MSCN company to report any sustainability-related activity to the management level of MSCN

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, etc.)

  • Proven track record of a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Sustainability position in a manufactural industry or a similar field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of Sustainability, Chemicals and relevant experience with related software systems and applications.
  • Demonstrable affinity with EU and Dutch sustainability- and environmental-related law, directives and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, and excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess environmental impact and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proficient in speaking and writing in English
  • Pro-active, service-minded and creative problem-solving attitude.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
